In an already remarkable rookie season, Angel Reese has made history once again.
Record-Breaking Performance
During the Chicago Sky’s 82-80 loss to the Connecticut Sun on Friday, Reese grabbed 20 rebounds for the second game in a row. This achievement marks a first in WNBA history.

Joining Elite Company
Reese’s performance places her among legends. Before her, only seven players had two career games with at least 20 rebounds. Now, she stands alongside Sylvia Fowles (7), Tina Charles (5), Jonquel Jones (4), and Lisa Leslie (3). Reese and Charles are now the only rookies to achieve this feat.
A Rare Achievement Across Leagues
In NBA history, Shaquille O’Neal was the last rookie to grab at least 20 rebounds in consecutive games back in 1993. This is noteworthy given the close relationship between Reese and O’Neal, who supports her for Rookie of the Year.

More Records and Honors
Reese has shattered several records already. She holds the rookie mark for consecutive double-doubles and reached 20 double-doubles faster than anyone else. She’s on track to have the highest rebound per game average ever (12.3) and is just shy of setting a single-season rebound record.
Despite trailing Caitlin Clark (+1500) in Rookie of the Year odds according to BetMGM, Reese’s recent accomplishments make her resume even more impressive.
