The Pistons just dropped some big news, and it’s got sneakerheads and hoop fans buzzing!
New Threads, New Partner
So, the Detroit Pistons are teaming up with StockX, the go-to online marketplace for kicks and streetwear. Starting in the 2024-25 season, you’ll see the StockX logo stitched on the left strap of those iconic Pistons jerseys. This multi-year deal is a big move, especially since StockX is stepping in for United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM), which had been the jersey patch sponsor for the last three seasons.
Motor City Match Made in Heaven
Here’s the cool part: both the Pistons and StockX are Detroit natives. UWM, owned by Suns’ majority owner Mat Ishbia, had its run, but now it’s time for a fresh start. Rich Haddad, the Pistons’ COO, couldn’t be more hyped about this collab. “Our players already love buying sneakers from StockX,” he said. But don’t get too excited—no free kicks or discounts for the players due to NBA rules. Bummer, right?
The Pistons have announced StockX as the new jersey patch sponsor this season.
StockX is a Detroit-based resale marketplace for sneakers, clothing and other products. This is the first jersey sponsor headquartered within the city.

From Fan to Partner
Greg Schwartz, StockX co-founder, is living the dream. Growing up in Detroit, he was a die-hard Pistons fan. “I was eight years old when they won in ‘89,” Schwartz reminisced. Now, his company’s logo will be on the jerseys of his favorite team. Talk about coming full circle! StockX will also be the presenting partner of the tunnel walk-ins for the Pistons.
In my opinion, this partnership feels super authentic. It’s not just about business; it’s about community and shared history. Plus, who doesn’t love a good underdog story?
Kickback with the Stars
To celebrate this epic partnership, the Pistons and StockX are throwing the Detroit Kickback event. It’s happening at Campus Martius Park, and it’s free! Expect to see Detroit legends like Big Sean, Jalen Rose, Lindsey Hunter, and even Pistons guard Cade Cunningham.
Oh, and a quick aside—did you hear about that wild Curry trade rumor? Crazy stuff.
StockX has dabbled in jersey patches before with the G League Ignite, but this is their first NBA patch deal. They’re also putting some signage on the home court of the Pistons’ G League team, the Motor City Cruise.
So, what do you think? Is this partnership a game-changer for the Pistons? Or just another logo on a jersey? Let’s hear your thoughts!
