Alright, hoop heads, get ready for a trip down memory lane with some serious Vince Carter love!
Vince Carter’s Jersey Retirement: A Night to Remember
Mark your calendars, folks. On January 25th, the Brooklyn Nets are giving Vince Carter the ultimate shoutout by retiring his No. 15 jersey. It’s all going down at Barclays Center when the Nets take on the Miami Heat. Tip-off is at 6 p.m. ET, so don’t be late!
Joining the Legends in the Rafters
Carter’s jersey retirement is a big deal, making him the seventh Net to get this honor. He’ll be hanging up there with some elite company, including Jason Kidd, whose No. 5 was retired back in 2013. Other legends like Drazen Petrovic, John Williamson, Bill Melchionni, Julius Erving, and Buck Williams have their numbers up there too. Talk about an exclusive club!

Vinsanity’s Epic Run with the Nets
Vince Carter lit it up during his five seasons with the Nets, back when they were still in New Jersey. In those 374 games, he averaged 23.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. That’s some serious production! And let’s not forget his shooting splits: 44.7% from the field, 37% from downtown, and 80.9% from the charity stripe. He was one of only three Nets to make it to three All-Star Games, alongside Kidd and Buck Williams.
Playoff Prowess and Record-Breaking Feats
Remember that crazy game on December 23, 2005, when Carter dropped 51 points on the Heat? Yeah, that was peak Vinsanity. He also set a franchise record with 2,070 points in the 2006-07 season and ranks third in all-time scoring for the Nets with 8,834 regular-season points. In the playoffs, he’s second only to KD with a 26-point average and has the fourth-most total playoff points in Nets history.
From the man himself.
