Remember Koloko’s rookie year with Toronto? Dude averaged 3.1 points, 2.9 boards, and a block per game over 58 games. Not too shabby for a newbie. He even had a monster game against the Bulls, dropping 11 points and swatting six shots. That’s what I call making a statement!
In my opinion, if Koloko can stay healthy, he could be a game-changer for the Lakers. His defensive presence is something they desperately need, especially with Christian Wood sidelined.
Injury Woes and Training Camp Buzz
Speaking of Wood, he’s out after knee surgery and won’t be back for at least eight weeks. Ouch. The Lakers still have AD and Jarred Vanderbilt holding down the fort, but Koloko could be the X-factor they need. Training camp kicks off on Oct. 1, and preseason action starts against the Timberwolves on Oct. 4. Mark your calendars, folks!
Koloko was a defensive dynamo in college, racking up 12.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game at Arizona. He even snagged the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year award. If he can bring that same energy to LA, watch out!
