Alright, folks, buckle up! We’re diving into some spicy NBA takes from a couple of Lakers legends and other big names. Let’s get to it!
Old-School Lakers Reunion
So, Derek Fisher and Byron Scott recently caught up on Scott’s Fastbreak show, and man, did they have some thoughts about today’s NBA. Fisher, who’s got five rings and 18 seasons under his belt, didn’t hold back. He thinks the league is leaning too much into entertainment, kinda like how WWF became WWE. Remember that shift?

Fisher’s got a point, though. He said, “All the pro sports to some degree, not just the NBA, even the NFL… It’s built more for the entertainment value, maybe, than the competitive value.” I think he’s onto something. The game’s changed, but is it for the better?
Rasheed Wallace Calls Out the Softness
Earlier this year, Rasheed Wallace went off on the Underdog NBA podcast. He’s not a fan of what he calls “the softness” in today’s game. “It’s just the softness with some of these rules and damn referees,” he said. And honestly, who can blame him?
Wallace wants to bring back the physicality. “Definitely bring back hand check, that forearm shiver so that way cats can’t just flow so easily through that paint.” Can you imagine today’s stars dealing with that? It’d be wild.
Anthony Edwards Stirs the Pot
Anthony Edwards sure knows how to make headlines. Last month, he claimed Michael Jordan was the only old-school player with real talent. Bold, right? Well, Kevin Garnett wasn’t having any of it.
On Ticket & The Truth with Paul Pierce, KG fired back, saying, “If I am being honest, I do not think anybody in this generation could have played like 20 years ago.” Ouch. Garnett, who played from ’95 to 2016, thinks today’s players wouldn’t cut it back then. What do you guys think?
