Duncan Robinson of Miami Heat is a force to be reckoned with. This forward has made a record 726 career 3-pointers in his first 225 regular-season games. At 29, he’s outdone Anthony Edwards, Devonte’ Graham, Luka Doncic, Desmond Bane, Trae Young, and Damian Lillard.

Robinson’s prowess doesn’t stop there. In 307 games, he’s made 905 career 3-pointers with a shooting percentage of 40.2%. The six-year veteran also ranks 180th on the NBA’s all-time 3-pointers list. He’s just a few shots away from passing Rasual Butler for 179th and Brandon Jennings for 178th. Among active players, Robinson ranks 60th.

According to NBA betting sites, the Heat’s odds of winning this season’s championship are 12th-shortest. Teams like the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia 76ers have better odds. But hey, who knows what could happen, right?

Robinson’s stats this season are impressive. He’s averaging career highs of 14.6 points and 3.2 assists, along with 2.8 rebounds and 29.1 minutes per game. His shooting percentages are off the charts too – 48.7% from the field, 44.2% beyond the arc, and 81.6% at the foul line. The 6-foot-7 wing is averaging 3.1 3s on 7.0 attempts per game.

Not bad for a guy who went undrafted in 2018, huh? In Miami’s 135-121 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Dec. 10, 2019, Robinson recorded 34 points on 12-of-16 (75%) shooting from the floor and a career-high 10 3-pointers on 14 attempts (71.4%).

Robinson is the all-time leader in career 3-pointers for the Miami Heat. Last December, at 28, he made his 800th career 3-pointer in his 263rd game. This made him the fastest player to reach the mark in NBA history. He beat out Luka Doncic, who held the record before him, and Stephen Curry.

Robinson is also Miami’s franchise leader in career 3-pointers. He ranks above Tim Hardaway Sr., Eddie Jones, Glen Rice, Mario Chalmers, Tyler Herro, Goran Dragic, and Dwyane Wade.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra has nothing but praise for Robinson. Following Miami’s 112-103 win over the Toronto Raptors on Dec. 6, he said, “With Duncan, it’s not even a surprise anymore. He’s so skilled offensively and fits within the unit. He knows how to complement either unit, he also knows how to be a focal point of actions. He creates overreactions. He’s got incredible chemistry with [Jimmy Butler].”
