The Denver Nuggets’ winning streak came to an end on Wednesday night as they suffered a 110-89 defeat against the Minnesota Timberwolves. It was their largest loss since April 4 when they fell to the Rockets just before the playoffs. The Nuggets struggled with their accuracy throughout the game, shooting only 39.6% from the field and 19.6% from beyond the arc. In contrast, the Timberwolves made 45.8% of their field goal attempts and 38.1% from deep.

Coach Michael Malone acknowledged the team’s poor performance, stating, “We’re 4-1, and tonight, we got our butts kicked.” He emphasized that this loss should serve as a reminder that they will face tough competition every night. Malone said, “They wanted to come out and they had a lot to show and prove, and we just didn’t match it.”

Despite the loss, Nikola Jokic had a standout performance for the Nuggets, recording a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds. However, the Timberwolves’ team effort paid off, with Karl-Anthony Towns scoring 21 points and Anthony Edwards contributing 25 on 50% shooting. Wolves coach Chris Finch praised his team’s defense and their strategy of utilizing big men like Rudy Gobert to counter Jokic’s impact.

In other news, the Denver Nuggets recently unveiled their new City Edition jerseys, which pay homage to the team’s Rocky Mountain culture. These jerseys represent the Mile High City culture, emphasizing the team’s playing location at an elevation of 5,280 feet. The jersey showcases the city skyline and the number 5,280, which is associated with Denver’s basketball identity. The Nuggets’ first game wearing the City Edition jerseys will be on December 18th against the Dallas Mavericks.
