Throughout the 2024 WNBA season, there’s been a tiresome debate over which of the league’s standout rookies, Caitlin Clark or Angel Reese, has made more of an impact.
Clark’s Impressive Rookie Season:
Caitlin Clark has had an outstanding first year. She set records for most assists in a game (19) and the rookie mark for assists in a season (232 and counting). If she keeps her current pace, she might break the all-time record of 316. Plus, if she maintains her 17.8 points per game average over the last 12 games, she’ll be only the second rookie to top 700 points in a season.
Clark also excels at making long-distance shots. According to the Fever, she leads the WNBA with an average three-point distance of 28 feet, 1.1 inchesโmuch further than even NBA players shoot from.
the @WNBA 3-point line is 22 feet, 1.75 inches.
the @NBA 3-point line is 23 feet, 9 inches.
Caitlin Clark leads the WNBA in longest average distance of made three-pointers this season at 28 feet, 1.1 inches, two feet further than any other player.

Reese’s Remarkable Achievements:
While Clark gets most of the attention, Angel Reese has also had an incredible debut season. She’s become known for her double-doubles and dominance under the boards. Reese set a record for consecutive double-doubles (15) and was the fastest player to reach 20 in one season. She’s on track to have the highest rebounds per game by a rookie and is just shy of breaking another all-time rookie record.

The Rookie of The Year Debate:
Right now, Clark is heavily favored (-5000) over Reese (+1500) to win Rookie of the Year according to BetMGM. But no matter who wins, people will keep comparing them throughout their careers. Instead of arguing about who’s better, let’s just enjoy watching these two fantastic players change women’s basketball for good!
