The Milwaukee Bucks made a significant move by exercising MarJon Beauchamp’s team option for the 2024-25 season. Valued at $2.73 million, this option is part of the four-year, $12.61 million rookie-scale contract he signed in July 2022. Beauchamp, a 23-year-old forward, was chosen 24th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft after playing for Yakima Valley College. In his rookie season, he started in 11 out of 52 games.

The Bucks are considered strong contenders this season, with the second-best odds to win the 2024 championship according to NBA betting sites. Only the Boston Celtics have slightly better odds, while the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns also have promising odds.

Last season, Beauchamp averaged 5.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 13.5 minutes per game. He showcased his skills in a game against the Atlanta Hawks on November 14, 2022, by scoring a career-high 20 points and grabbing eight rebounds in 35 minutes as a starter. He also made an impressive 77.8% of his field goals and three 3-pointers.

During his time with the Wisconsin Herd, the Bucks’ G League affiliate, Beauchamp demonstrated his abilities, averaging 19.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assist in six appearances. He also played for the G League Ignite before being drafted by the Bucks, where he averaged 15.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.

Bucks coach Adrian Griffin praised Beauchamp for his performance, stating that he played well on both ends of the court. Griffin highlighted his defensive skills and noted that he imposed his will on the game. He emphasized the importance of consistency on defense for the entire team.

With the Bucks showing confidence in Beauchamp’s potential, fans can expect him to continue making significant contributions to the team in the upcoming seasons.
