One of the biggest stories this WNBA season is the supposed feud between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.
Despite both players saying there’s no bad blood, media has painted a different picture. On her podcast "Unapologetically Angel," Reese finally spoke out about what’s really been happening behind the scenes.
Reese Speaks Out:
Reese shared her thoughts on the situation, saying, “I think it’s really just the fans — her fans, the Iowa fans, now the Indiana fans — that are like…they ride for her,”
. “And I respect that, but sometimes it’s very disrespectful. I think there’s a lot of racism when it comes to it, and I don’t believe she stands on any of that."
Harassment Allegations:
She also talked about some scary incidents involving fan harassment. “When it comes to death threats, like I’m talking about people coming down to my address, follow me home — it’s come down to that," Reese explained. "Multiple occasions people have made AI pictures of me naked. They have sent it to my family members…it sucks to see that and it’s really hard that I have to go through, but at the end of the day, it’s a game that we do both love, but there is no hate (on my end).”
WNBA Rookie Race:
Clark and Reese are leading candidates for WNBA Rookie of the Year and even played together in the All-Star game. Both have praised each other all season long.
Fans feel it’s sad these issues overshadow their talent.
In their matchups this season, Clark’s team has won more games against Reese’s team. Clark also leads in several stats: scoring (18.9 points per game vs 13.3), assists (8.4 vs 1.8), steals (1.4 vs 1.3), field-goal percentage (.425 vs .384), and three-point percentage (.343 vs .154). However, Reese excels in rebounding (13.2 vs 5.8 per game).
It’s clear they both bring something special to the court!
