LeBron James might finally play with his son Bronny later this year.
The NBA’s top scorer got another first-time honor during the 2024 Summer Olympics opening in Paris.
LeBron’s Historic Achievement
On Friday, LeBron became the first male basketball player from the U.S. to be a flag bearer at the Olympics. Almost 600 Team USA members voted for him, and a female athlete will be announced soon.
In history, only two female basketball players have carried the flag: Sue Bird in 2021 and Dawn Staley in 2004. Stephen Curry nominated LeBron and was also a nominee himself.
Fans might think this is a huge deal for LeBron and his legacy.
LeBron expressed his joy by saying, “Itโs an incredible honor to represent the United States on this global stage, especially in a moment that can bring the whole world together.” He added that it means everything to him, his family, teammates, fellow Olympians, and many people across America with big dreams.
First male basketball player to receive this honor in U.S. history. Voted on by his fellow Olympians.
